Birth Parent Peer Connection

To provide more holistic support for birth parents, Choice offers opportunities for connection and community through our peer support programs. Whether you just found out you're pregnant, have been considering adoption for a while, currently in the process of making an adoption plan or have already placed your child with an adoptive familiy, these programs are designed to provide support, understanding, and connection throughout your adoption journey

Through these programs, you can connect with others who have personal experience with adoption. You can speak with a birth parent who has made an adoption plan and placed her child with an adoptive family, as well as others who may be navigating similar experiences. Participants have the opportunity to ask questions, share their thoughts and feelings, and build relationships with people who truly understand what they are going through

Learn more about each program below and fill out an inquiry form if you are interested in participating.

Peer Connection Program

This program offers the opportunity to connect with a trained peer who has previously made an adoption plan and placed a child with an adoptive family. You can ask questions, hear about their experience, and learn more about what the process felt like from their perspective. Fill out the Peer Connection Inquiry Form to get connected today.

Birth Parent Post Adoption Connection

This program creates a community space for parents who have moved through the adoption process. The goal is to find community and connection with other people who have similar shared experiences through facilitated online discussions and groups. Fill out our Post Adoption Connection inquiry form to learn more.

Lacey

Meet our Peer Support Staff

Birth Parent, Lacey

My name is Lacey, I am a birth mom who chose open adoption. At 35, I experienced an unplanned pregnancy. I was scared and I felt like the life I had worked so hard to build was ending. I went through a long journey of processing and working through the grief and loss  that came with choosing open adoption.

Now, I can honestly say it has been one of my greatest joys. I feel like I not only have a daughter, but a second family!

I felt very supported during my pregnancy. However, even with all the professional support, I still felt isolated at times. One thing that helped me ease that isolation was connecting with another birth mom. I met her through a friend, and our conversation was incredibly encouraging. I walked away feeling less alone. That made a huge difference in my mental health.

I hope to come alongside and be there for other women who are going through similar experiences. I want them to know they are not alone!
