Choice Adoptions is a nonprofit adoption agency licensed in both Oregon & Washington. We have been serving expectant parents, adoptive families, and children for more than 65 years.
We believe our clients deserve holistic care and the freedom to make decisions that feel right for them. Whether you're exploring adoption, growing your family, or just looking for guidance, we're here to help without pressure or judgment and ensure you have all the information to make an informed decision.

Our History
Choice Adoptions was founded in 1958 as Adventist Family Services by people whose Christian faith inspired them to serve children and families through adoption. For more than six decades, our organization has remained committed to serving those involved in the adoption process and protecting vulnerable children.

As the communities we serve have changed, so have we. In 2019, we became Choice Adoptions to better reflect our commitment to serving people from all backgrounds, beliefs, and family structures. The name Choice reflects our belief that expectant parents deserve to understand their options and make decisions without pressure. When a birth parent comes to Choice, they are in the driver’s seat. Our role is to provide support, resources, and guidance so they can make the decision that is right for them.

While Choice has roots in the Christian faith, our organization today includes staff and board members with a variety of backgrounds and beliefs. Our diverse team brings a range of perspectives and experiences to our work, and we are committed to creating an environment where everyone we serve feels respected and supported. For families and birth parents who prefer to work with a faith-aligned social worker, we make every effort to accommodate those preferences. Regardless, every client receives holistic support tailored to their unique needs.

Though our name and approach have evolved over the years, our mission remains the same: to walk alongside children, birth parents, adoptive families, and others involved in the adoption process with compassion, support, and respect.
Board Statement of Faith
Though we are not a "religious" organization or affiliated with any specific church or denomination, our board and leadership at Choice align around our faith in God and His good intentions toward people. We love people as God loves people and that's it. No judgement. Our belief enables us to engage our culture, city and our communities with great confidence because we are secure in the knowledge of God’s love. Our dream is that as we live this way, our lives, communities, and our city will be transformed.
Choice is made up of social workers, counselors, advocates, and adoption professionals who care deeply about the people we serve.
