For over 50 years, Choice Adoptions has been there for thousands of women who are unexpectedly pregnant, feeling like they are all alone, and looking for answers. Because so many people know Choice as a reliable source of adoption and birth parent advocacy information from meeting with us, reading our blog and using our resource materials, we sometimes get asked what are some of the other adoption agencies in the state of Oregon.
The answer to this question has changed as of 2021. In the last few years, several Oregon adoption agencies have closed. We want to make sure we are providing the very best information with respect to what options are available, so that expectant parents and adoptive families can be as informed as possible.
Here is an updated list of some of the companies who are contracted and licensed for adoptions in Oregon for 2021:
1. A Family For Every Child
A staple in Oregon adoption over the years, A Family For Every Child specializes in foster adoption. As a part of the national Heart Gallery, they help find families for children who are in the Oregon foster care system.
2. Boys and Girls Aid
Boys and Girls Aid has been around for 135 years! Like Catholic Charities and Open Adoption & Family Services, Boys and Girls Aid is located in Portland, Oregon. The focus of this organization is foster care and helping the more than 8,000 children living in the Oregon foster care system. They also offer an infant adoption program.
3. Catholic Charities of Oregon
Around since 1933, Catholic Charities of Oregon are located in Portland and specialize in being a support for the most poor and marginalized. They provide affordable and supportive housing, pregnancy and parenting support, and have placed many babies through adoption in Oregon.
