Waiting Families: couples who have decided to open up every inch of their lives to adopt and raise a child. This blog series highlights some of their stories. Today, we have the privilege to share with you about Jeremy and Andie!
Jeremy and Andie are an amazing couple with contagious joy and a passion for loving their kids. They met when they were just 19 years old, and have now been married for over 15 years! They’ve learned how to rely on and trust each other through the highs and lows and their love for each other shines brightly.
Andie is a family pastor at their home church, where she works with young kids, teenagers, and families from all different backgrounds. Andie is particularly gifted at helping families communicate in healthy ways and helping family members see things from each other’s points of view. Her kindness, patience and steadfast support are just a few pieces of what makes her such an amazing mother.
Jeremy is a role-model in a number of ways. He’s a compassionate husband, a loving dad, and a self-sacrificial police officer. For three years he worked as the Resource Officer at a middle school, where he was able to support and provide safety for teenagers. Jeremy adores Andie, his daughters, Mae, and Hazel, and can’t wait to be an adoptive father as well.
Mae and Hazel are the sweetest sisters you’ll ever meet. Mae loves art, science and music and loves his role as the oldest kid. She says she can not wait to love her new brother or sister through adoption! Hazel says she has wanted and prayed for her new brother or sister through adoption for a “long time” and enjoys gymnastics, crafts and hanging out with her family.
Simply put, this family loves each other, loves to have fun, and will love their adoptive son or daughter with everything in them. They are excited for what’s ahead on this journey as a Waiting Family.
