If you’ve ever watched a superhero movie, there’s a scene in every film where you realize a seemingly “everyday kind of person” is actually an epic hero. Here at Choice, that’s how we feel about our adopting families.
Like any good Marvel film, the road to adoption can have many twists and turns; but unlike a blockbuster movie, there isn’t usually a crowd full of people waiting to applaud at the end. The adoption process includes in-depth preparation, home studies, and much more. It can be exciting and mundane, joyful and painful, beautiful and difficult all at once. Our adoptive families don’t go down this road for the accolations — they do it because they want to love a child with all their heart and soul, to see them thrive and live life to the fullest.
But we think they deserve a whole lot of love! We asked around the Choice Adoptions office for words to describe our amazing “superfamilies” and this is what they said:
“Our adoptive families are strong. They’re resilient. They’re in it from beginning to end.”
“Our adoptive families are compassionate. They love and care they pour out truly blows me away.”
“Our adoptive families are patient. When challenges come their way they don’t give up and take the easy road.”
Over the course of November, as we celebrate National Adoption Month, we want to begin by honoring our adoptive families. To all our Waiting Families — we’re with you. We’re here to help you see your dream become a reality. To all our Adoptive Families — your love for your kids continues to inspire us, day after day.
